Ready For Change
My life has changed drastically within the past year. You see, I tended to overthink and worry about the future. I never realized how much my thinking was holding me back in my life. We all tend to become our own worst enemies. We replay adverse events in our minds over and over again. We hold onto grudges and never forgive those who hurt us. We become cold because we've been hurt too many times before, so we assume everyone is out to get us.
Over the years, I slowly started becoming someone who felt unworthy of having healthy connections. I found myself ignoring red flags because I always wanted to give someone the benefit of the doubt. We all do that. We justify someone's toxic behavior until it turns around and bites us in the ASS. This year I decided to protect my energy at all costs because I wanted to experience something different in my life. I wanted to experience joy! I wanted to share healthy relationships. I wanted to feel good about the people I gave my time and energy. Guess what happened when I made the change?
I started feeling good about myself. I woke up with feelings of gratitude because I learned to appreciate life. I began meditating, writing in my journal, and exercising. I became more disciplined and eager to succeed in life. I no longer focused on what I lacked and worried about the future. I began living in the present and released any thoughts of negativity because I finally understood that the only thing I have control over is my mind. I am not perfect, and I might have my days where I fall short, but the important thing about this journey is knowing yourself.
You will always make mistakes in life, but when you do, get back up and try again! Do not allow fear and feelings of doubt to seep in and cause you to become stuck. Forgive the people who have hurt you and take your power back; holding onto grudges doesn't help you. Everyone is doing the best they can in life; some people start doing the work to become better. At the same time, others do not know where to begin and stick to their comfort zone. We all have a choice in life, and working to become the best version of ourselves isn't always easy, but it will be worth it.
Remember, everyone is on their journey. Show compassion to those who are not ready to take the step. You never know what someone is going through, and who are we to judge?
