Time For A Change...

As you get older, you never truly understand how you will handle stress. Everyone deals with stress differently, and for me, I found comfort in eating. I went from weighing between 145-150 to 180 pounds. During my weight gain, I was in an unhealthy relationship, and I let myself go. I didn't care about the foods I ate or whether or not I exercised. I had so much going on in my life that it took a lot on me mentally, and during that time, food was the only thing that made me feel good. I knew I needed to stop overeating, but mentally, I couldn't get a grip to stop myself from indulging. In 2016 I decided enough was enough, no more feeling sorry for myself and being weak! I started meditating again and taking back control of my thoughts and fears. I made a commitment to love myself and remove anything toxic from my life. My journey began, and I haven't looked back since.

What have I learned? No one can love you better than you love yourself. If you focus on self-love, then you will be so much happier, and you won't ever let anyone walk all over you. You can do anything you put your mind to if you set a goal and follow through. Weight loss begins with your mind. If you can't control your urges and be disciplined, this journey won't ever get easy. It's okay to fall behind but never give up, pick yourself back up and keep moving forward.

I've been on this journey since 2016, and I am finally focused 100% on my goal. I work out five days a week, and I eat clean. When I began, my weight fluctuated because I lost about 25 pounds, but I never reached my real goal. I've always wanted to be lean and toned, so this year, I decided it was time to focus on that. What is your goal? Write it down and make it happen, no matter what! Here I am four years later. I haven't given up, and you shouldn't either; push yourself daily! We are so much stronger than we think we are. I've dealt with so many things in life, but I think it's incredible to realize that you have so much power when you can control your thoughts and actions. We are conquerors, and if you set a goal, you can achieve it by being intentional. Will you start to take control of your life or allow it to control you?

Napoleon Hill said: “If you don’t conquer self, you will be conquered by self.” Your most significant challenge lies within you. Not at the gym or work. If you can learn to control your mind, you can accomplish any goal you set. The first step is being happy NOW and living in this very moment. We can't control everything in our lives, but we can control how we deal with our emotions. I have been on this journey since 2016, and I have finally gotten into a consistent schedule for working out and eating clean... It took me four years, haha, but I never gave up! We are in 2020, and I feel and look the best I have ever been in my entire life. This is an accomplishment within itself because it took me a while to get here but the important thing is that I eventually did. Do not beat yourself up when things don't go exactly as planned. Accept the challenges and bumps in the road and allow those things to make you stronger and wiser so you can defeat those obstacles if they come back again in the future.
