Self-Mastery Is What's About!
Have you ever wondered why so many people stop learning after formal education? It's like you decide to no longer read any books, challenge yourself, or grow.
I remember when I got out of school and into my career, I became so distracted with life that the only time I read a book was when I was traveling on an airplane, and that was if I didn't fall asleep. Don't get me wrong, plenty of people enjoy reading, but others allow life to distract them and stop learning.
Being on this journey has taught me a lot, and the most important lesson is that we have to take action to make our lives better by being intentional with what we give our time and energy.
Since I started reading more articles and researching human psychology, it's allowed me to understand myself and other people better. Many of us go through life accepting what is society's norms or normalizing the toxic patterns we saw growing up because we choose not to dig deeper.
The worst thing we can do is stop learning about life and the things that make us tick. Life should be about self-mastery and knowing one's self. My favorite saying is, "When you know better, you do better." You have to ask yourself, how can I know better when I allow myself to stay distracted?
The answer is easy, put your growth at the top of your priority list. Find ways to become better each and every day. Do not stop learning, and always surround yourself with like-minded individuals because, as they say, you are the sum of the five people you hang out with the most.
Do yourself a favor and start sowing into your mental health and well-being; your future self will thank you.
